Driver Charged with Attempted Murder After Shooting at Vehicle Linked to Prince Albert Crash

A dramatic turn of events unfolded as Prince Albert police charged an 18-year-old, Kye Rees, with attempted murder after an alarming incident last fall. Reports reveal that Rees, allegedly involved in a collision, resorted to firing at the opposing vehicle before fleeing the scene. Following a relentless four-month investigation, authorities finally caught up with Rees in Moosomin, Sask., east of Regina, on April 12. Alongside the attempted murder charge, Rees faces a slew of other serious accusations, including firearms offences, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, and failing to remain at a motor vehicle collision causing bodily harm.

The incident, which transpired in the early hours of November 19 on the 1000 block of 22nd Street East in Prince Albert, left 22-year-old Clarence Sewap gravely injured. Sewap, the driver of the targeted vehicle, is said to still be on the road to recovery from the serious injuries sustained. Rees, on the other hand, had his day in court, making his initial appearance in Prince Albert on April 15.

Adding another layer to the saga, a 42-year-old woman now faces charges for obstruction of justice, slated for a court appearance on May 22. With this development, Prince Albert police assert that they do not expect further charges to be laid in connection to the case, bringing a semblance of closure to a harrowing chapter in the city's history.

In the aftermath of this harrowing incident, the community awaits justice as legal proceedings unfold. While the arrest brings a sense of relief, the journey to closure for all involved continues. As Clarence Sewap perseveres in his recovery, the city of Prince Albert stands united in support, reaffirming its commitment to safety and accountability on its streets. As the legal process progresses, the hope for healing and closure remains steadfast, a beacon of resilience in the face of adversity.
